TECHNICAL
The Retroscreens HCS screen is an extruded acrylic that contains special diffuser (DF) beads. These give the material its satin surfaces and intensive translucency, properties that offer unique application potential.
The benefits offered by the Retroscreens HCS screen make it particularly suitable:

    * In the areas of shop fitting, trade fair booths and command & control centres, as well as for high-quality P-O-S displays

    * Because its surface is less sensitive to scratching and is virtually indestructible

    * As the material can be machined, bonded and thermoformed without any problem, leaving the matt surface intact!

Diffuser beads are spherical polymer particles that are "embedded" in the Retroscreens HCS screen without being visible. They show a specific difference in light refraction (refractive index) as compared with competitive screens. Each of the spherical polymer particles therefore deflects impinging light rays in a special way, toward the service side. As a result, hardly any light is reflected or absorbed, i.e. the Retroscreens HCS screen offers extraordinary high light transmission paired with superlative light diffusion.
The Retroscreens HCS screen is perceived by the human eye - in spite of it's colourless nature - as an opalescent, milky-white translucent material. These, however, as shown below, reflect and absorb more light because of the incorporated pigments, Thus produce extreme light transmission comparable to any competitor screen.

All Retroscreens HCS screens are supplied in the following formats:

- as solid sheets
- in sizes up to 3050 x 2050 mm
- 3mm thick

Physical forms:
Retroscreens HCS Screens will expand 1,0 mm per meter by a temperature increase of 10° C. By a humidity increase from 60 % to 100 %, and by constant temperature, Retroscreens HCS Screens will expand from 0,3 to 0,5 mm per meter. As an example, Screens delivered in dimension 1671 mm (width) will expand to dimension 1671,13 mm by a temperature increase of 1° C. By a temperature increase from 20° C to 30° C, the same screen will expand by 1,67 mm (1,671m x 0,10 x10 ) resulting in a total width of 1672,7mm. By a humidity change from 60 % to 100 %, and by a simultaneous temperature increase of 10°, as an example from 20° C to 30° C, the width of the screen will expand from 1671 mm to 1673,3 mm. ( 1671 +1,34 + 1,0 ) This situation could appear if air-condition was out of service for more than 10 hours.
By humidity- and temperature variations back to previous conditions, the Retroscreens HCS Screens will slowly during some hours return to original dimensions.
